About the Artist Dieter Ingels
Dieter Ingels is a young Belgian painter who graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp with a master’s in fine arts Painting in 2024.
His master’s project, Out of the Atelier, featured 100 paintings created from observation throughout Antwerp and the Academy, showcasing his plein air-based practice. With a refined brush, Dieter’s work expresses poetic and atmospheric experiences, often drawing inspiration from the masters of the late 19th century.
Romanticizing everyday moments, he exploits nature as a canvas to subtly conceal his own emotions, crafting paintings that invite reflection and evoke quiet, intimate narratives. While currently focussing on landscape painting, believing this is where the strength of subtlety truly shines, he doesn’t limit himself to them.
As a well-rounded artist, inspired by the old-masters, he is well-versed in portraiture, still-life and interior-painting.
